Court & Region
The Hotel-Restaurant Berghof emerged as a continuation of the inn “Steinbachtal,” which has been managed since 1953. In 1962, the new inn was built on a southern slope above the Steinbachtal. In the initially six rooms, well-known personalities from sports and television have slept, such as Fritz Walter, Otmar Walter, Karel Gott, or Herbert Herrmann.
The upscale cuisine of the spouses Helma and Friedel Heeg was well-known beyond the region. In 1976, the inn was supplemented by a hotel extension and its number of rooms tripled. The spouses Sigrid and Klaus Heeg took over the operational business and served a hearty fare that attracted many guests from near and far.
On weekdays, the hotel accommodates almost exclusively business travelers and is mainly geared towards their needs. On weekends, the Berghof also welcomes many families and city travelers who want to unwind for one or two days and escape the urban hustle and bustle.
Since Klaus Heeg passed away early, Sigrid Heeg has been managing the inn independently and is pleased when guests return and new guests discover the Berghof for themselves.
The Berghof has an excellent location, which is especially appreciated by its hotel guests. The house is only 6 km away from Aschaffenburg and the important motorway junction A3 - Würzburg/Frankfurt. In the hotel, guests can sleep absolutely quietly and away from traffic noise and can still continue their onward journey without major detours. The international airport Frankfurt am Main is only 36 minutes away by car. So, you can indulge and sleep top-centrally! Because of the oxygen-rich and dust-free air in the Vorspessart, the inn is also a popular destination for hikers and excursionists from everywhere. Joggers and mountain bikers also appreciate the fairytale trails through the surrounding forests.
Aschaffenburg, also called the Bavarian Nice, can be quickly reached by car, as well as by bicycle. By bike, you can ride from the Berghof and the Steinbachtal either through the Strietwald or through the Rückersbacher Schlucht to the banks of the Main River. From there, you can either cycle upstream via Seligenstadt to Frankfurt for a day trip or downstream past Schloss (Castle) Johannisburg to Würzburg.
At Schloss Johannisburg, in the center of Aschaffenburg, you have a wide range of sights to see. A tour of the castle and its cultivated castle garden, the Pompejanum, the collegiate church, Park Schönbusch, and the fairytale and water castle Mespelbrunn are just a few examples of a successful culturally influenced day.
We are happy to advise you on site regarding sightseeing.
